Background In Italy SMEs (Small Medium Enterprises) are organized in the industrial district. Usually the industrial districts resume a long experience and tradition. That is the case for some brands producing and trading with top quality ceramics. In the global competition, where markets are more and more integrated, even SMEs with high technologies and good clients can find difficult to develop an efficient international business. That is the case of many Made in Italy companies and brands at the moment: these companies are rich in traditions and know-how, with good clients and a strong financial structure but they find difficult to optimize their business. Project profile Made in Italy brand, with top quality products very well styled, is today seeking for industrial and commercial partners to better manage the global competition. One medium size company in the ceramic sector with a 2 m Euro asset value, able to produce around 400.000 pcs per year, with a good clients portfolio is looking for a foreign, Mediterranean investor. By transferring its production lines and its know how to a lower production costs context, the Italian company intends to explore an industrial co-operation with an Egyptian company already in the sector. The idea is to combine the know- how and the tradition coming from the Italian company with compatible production costs to explore together global expansion. Indeed the Italian company own a portfolio of customers in many applealing markets like Northern European countries, Canada, the USA and Australia. Onemedit role Onemedit, whose main mandate is to promote industrial cooperation in the area, has accepted the mandate to search for a potential partner.
